As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Planner, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling product to meet customer demand within manufacturing environment. This hands-on position will analyze capacity and inventory and draw conclusions on how to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
1. Production Planning
- Create work orders and deliver to workstations on the shop floor
- Prepare JIT list packets for each workstation
- Enter confirmations of completed work in collaboration with shop leads
- Generate planning action reports
- Maintain data in SAP, monitor discrepancies and make system corrections
- Report out on production order variances
- Assign MRP controllers and location to new parts
2. Inventory Support
- Conduct cycle counting on AA, B and C level parts. Collaborate with shop leads on discrepancies
- Prepare count sheets for quarterly inventory and evaluate counts received
- Assist in preparation for physical inventory
- Coordinate physical inventory with Master Scheduler
3. Manufacturing Support & continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in the overall process efficiencies and communications to key stakeholders
- Work with engineering on any changes to BOMs and ensure all manufacturing work orders reflect recent changes
- Generate coil cards and tags for production
- Support purchasing in some functions as needed
- Thoroughly communicate material shortages to pertinent production team
- Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and company
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with an ERP Systems, particularly in Planning and Scheduling
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process enhancements.
- Collaborative mindset, with proven ability to work cross functionally.
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma / GED
Travel & Working Environment
- Office environment with occasional work in a plant/manufacturing environment
- Minimal travel (<10%) that includes visits to other facilities, vendors and training.
- Manufacturing Environment require use of foot, eye and ear protection when in production areas.
