Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide strategic oversight of operations to meet key business objectives, including ownership of multiple P&Ls, for the SPX Engineered Air Quality division. The businesses within Engineered Air Quality are leading manufacturers of industrial fans, critical exhaust systems, and high temperature fans, including two businesses based in the United States (Cincinnati Fan and Strobic Air Technologies) and one business based in the United Kingdom (Daniels Fans). Engineered Air Quality produces highly customized engineering solutions that are sold into a diverse set of end markets. This role directs the activities of engineering, operations, and sales to provide superior products and services. This role will lead acquisition efforts and be responsible for achieving very significant revenue growth in the next few years. Success in this role requires a thorough understanding of the functions within the organization and very effective collaboration with the leadership team and other key stakeholders to continuously improve and grow the business. 


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Guide and direct management in the development, production, promotion, and financial aspects of the division’s products and services
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine divisional progress toward stated goals and objectives
  • Present the performance, significant activities undertaken, and financial analysis of the business unit to the senior management team
  • Oversee manufacturing and materials management to review production/operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and facility problems, thus ensuring lower costs and preventing operational delays
  • Direct the preparation of short- and long-term plans and budgets based on broad corporate and divisional goals and growth objectives
  • Oversee executives who direct divisional activities (sales, operations, engineering, etc.) that implement organizational policies
  • Implement programs that meet divisional goals and objectives
  • Create the structure and processes necessary to manage the organization's current activities and its projected growth
  • Maintain a sound plan of corporate organization, establishing policies to ensure adequate management development and to provide for capable management succession


Education, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • 12-15 years of progressive leadership experience required, preferably in a technical field and/or industrial equipment industry
  • 5+ years of experience as a strategic business leader with responsibility for developing product and/or market strategies in a related industry
  • Demonstrated success in diversified environments/businesses involving cross-functional collaboration and influence
  • Demonstrated track record for growing revenue and expanding margins.
  • Analytical and financial expertise
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders
  • Strong process orientation with experience managing complex, multi-phase projects and initiatives
  • M&A execution and integration experience preferred
  • Resourceful in consistently applying effective solutions to technical and people challenges
