Job Summary 


The purpose of this position is to work with the project team to create and maintain project schedules covering the engineering, procurement, and construction phases of delivery of new cooling towers or reconstruction to existing cooling towers.  Typical projects are in the range of $1million - $15 million.  Specific duties include working with the project team to develop resource-loaded schedules to meet the specific project needs, maintain the schedule, monitor and communicate schedule status, and provide insight to the project team from the schedule.  The role will include interaction with office and field personnel as well as client communication.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Lead the creation and implementation of integrated schedule for cooling towers from engineering through procurement into construction
  • Provide a resource loaded and leveled project schedule which clearly identifies critical path and float areas
  • Utilize appropriate scheduling tool based on project needs (primary tools are Microsoft Project and Primavera P6)
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Construction to define schedule requirements and work sequence.
  • Identify major milestones, critical approvals and long lead procurement items
  • Evaluate critical and near critical path activity sequences
  • Develop and maintain regular scheduling reporting including but not limited to look ahead schedules, manpower, earned value reporting, and client reports as required.
  • Review project schedule and drive communication to project leadership when risk areas are identified with appropriate mitigation plans to assure on time delivery.
  • Support the project team to provide clear visibility on status and schedule both internally and to client.
  • Perform ongoing schedule analysis, critical path analysis, earned value analysis, risk analysis reporting, evaluate, and recommend schedule improvements and opportunities.
  • Suggest corrective actions and/or develop recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur
  • Assess or validate actual progress
  • Support proposal process with bid schedule development
  • Provides project feedback and lessons learned in order to improve project execution
  • Develop and improve best practices for scheduling and reporting



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or exceptional, relevant work experience required
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
  • 6+ years’ experience as a scheduler
  • Other experience in project controls is a plus


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent understanding of Project Planning
  • Good understanding of engineering and construction projects
  • Good ability to understand project scope, project schedule objectives and developing/maintaining various schedule requirements
  • Good understanding of the basic principles of Project Management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
