Job Summary 

The Production Supervisor is accountable for providing technical direction, professional knowledge, planning and direct supervision to production associates that exceed customer and industry demands in safety, quality and delivery at the highest efficiency.



  • Safety champion for area of responsibility. 
    • Promote and lead best in class safety practices
    • Perform safety audits and associated root-cause analysis and corrections.
    • Satisfy all safety engagement requires set forth by MEP (Hazard Identification, Safety Audits, etc.)
    • Lead and promote safe environment actions through championing and leading the area in implementation and utilization of 5-S.


  • Lead and develop effective personnel to ensure an efficient, motivated, and skilled workforce.
    • Coach and mentor associates to achieve goals.
    • Promote and maintain team effectiveness and morale as demonstrated by positive actions, attitudes and judgment.
    • Provide opportunities for and track cross-training of team associates. Maintain their progress on a skills matrix.
    • Ensure team understands and follows work instructions and other required procedures/methods
    • Lead / Liaison for on-boarding all new/outside personnel to coming into the area.  Responsible for maintaining open lines of communication with all personnel, assisting in integration of new persons into the area (safety, quality, process overview), and retention of personnel through frequent interactions to determine impediments to success.    


  • Ensure production schedule as provided by Planning is followed to insure on time delivery of orders.  Where issues arise that require a break from the schedule, coordinate with planning to determine correct option to produce. 


  • Monitor part quality levels and ensure all necessary quality checks are complete as required.  Collect data for first pass and other quality output metrics as required and take appropriate corrective action steps as necessary to achieve desired quality levels. 


  • Lead the Time Based management system in the area through:
    • Collecting, monitoring, and reviewing hourly output data as provided to look for opportunities for improvement
    • Leading the team though problem solving exercises as necessary to attack the root cause of issues that hinder productivity, output, safety, or lack of adherence to the schedule.
    • Lead the daily T1 meetings as required.


  • Coordinate repairing of equipment and tooling with Maintenance in order to maintain the production schedule and avoid excessive down time.


  • Ensure proper maintenance and good housekeeping of tools, machines, equipment and facilities.


  • Assist manufacturing engineering with new product development and implementation.


  • Work Cross-functional with all departments to ensure quality and maximize productivity



  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical related field preferred


  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Experience Powdered Coat Paint and metal fabrication processes/ Manufacturing is preferred.



  • Exposure to LEAN Manufacturing techniques and methodologies.


  • Experience in quality, manufacturing or continuous improvement engineering is preferred.


  • Must have good PC skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel is strongly preferred.


  • Having a good understanding of product flow and understanding of planning manufacturing operations is essential. 


  • Strong organizational skills and good written and verbal communication skills required.


  • Demonstrates strong Coaching/Mentoring and Personnel Development skills.


  • Must have excellent safety and quality leadership record


  • Possesses excellent problem solving skills


  • Able to lead people and manage processes through a continually changing environment


  • Flexible, open to change and able to handle ever-changing priorities
