Job Summary 

The primary purpose of this position is to promote and manage environmental, health and safety.  This position will be responsible to drive implementation of facility-level programs and recommends measures to reduce or eliminate industrial hazards in compliance with regulations and SPX requirements. This position will work closely with production, supervisors, maintenance and site/corporate management.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Coordinates and implements SPX environmental, health & safety standards, and manages facility-specific procedures as it pertains to regulatory requirements
  • Monitors compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations
  • Develops, facilitates and monitors implementation of corrective action plans
  • Analyzes trends and manages utilization of the global data information system
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of employee environmental, health & safety training
  • Performs assessments of facilities; recommends corrective or preventive measures where indicated
  • Facilitates the investigation process and conducts root-cause analysis of incidents as appropriate
  • Prepares materials, communicates, and submits required documentation to necessary parties
  • Report environmental, health & safety incidents to management and regulatory agencies, per SPX requirements
  • Provide environmental, health and safety guidance to facility management and communicate with staff regarding requirements
  • Coach personnel and influence safe working behaviors
  • Coordinates and aligns facility initiatives with SPX standards and initiatives
  • Establishes and supervisors the protection and security program as required
  • Provides required reports to corporate staff as required
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management 


  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental health and safety experience in  manufacturing
