CNC Operator - 2nd Shift

This is a position with WM Technologies, LLC and affiliate of SPX Enterprises, LLC, which manufactures and sells Weil-McLain<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">®  branded products. Weil-McLain<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">® is a leading North American brand of hydronic comfort heating systems for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings since 1881. 

 

Operates and adjusts semiautomatic and automatic numerically controlled machines (Turret Press/CNC/Laser) to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations to produce quality parts in safe manner.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

 

  1. Operate Turret Press/CNC/Laser Equipment.
  2. Perform functions necessary as prescribed by Work Order and Blueprint.
  3. Interpret Blueprint and set-up equipment so that quality components to specification are produced with minimal input from others.
  4. Perform First Piece inspection as needed.
  5. Change tools as needed to optimize run-time of CNC/Turret Press/Laser.
  6. Set up material and move material using drive stand-up reach lift truck.
  7. Assure proper material types are loaded into equipment:  Cold Rolled Steel, Stainless Steel, Galvanized and Aluminized Steel.
  8.  Clean equipment, tools and gauges to ensure they are safe and orderly at all times
  9.  Identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, effectively involve Operator and Leads to draw valid conclusions
  10. Work on other Fabrication and paint equipment as needed.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATION:

 

  • Experience with Turret Press/CNC, &/or Laser operations is preferred.
  • Must be able to drive stand-up reach lift truck, and pass PIT certification as needed.
  • Blueprint reading and mechanical abilities.
  • Must be able to read calipers and other metrology equipment.
  • Strong math skills (decimals, fractions, use of calculator).
  • Must be able to setup, operate and adjust CNC Turret Press and understand G and M codes.
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills.
  • Able to understand production planning requirements.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
