The below is a position with Weil-Mclain, a division of the Marley-Wylain Company. Weil-McLain is an industry leading manufacturer of high efficiency, condensing boilers. In this position you will be responsible for operating machines that form the molds for our boiler systems.
Skills/Abilities that YOU will learn:
· B-Line: Machine operation of cranes and sand systems. Repairs of sand condition and fill, mold condition, flask condition, pattern changes/conditions, squeeze board change, stickers, etc. Reporting of findings.
· Blast Operator: Load and unload blast, remove excess iron and vacuum out casting.
· Core & Mold Maker: Setup and operate a variety of core making equipment such as boxes, Isocure, Pepset, and bench cores. Assembly and finishing of completed cores for boiler parts following standard methods and procedures
· Floors: Operates overhead crane, makes copes & drags, finishes copes, sets chaplets, closes molds, pours molds, shakes out flask, sets up floors, cleans cores and changes patterns.
Primary Functions:
· Equipment and machine operation and inspection, including forklift inspections
· Cope and drag opening and closing
· Set up area and/or machine as required
· Clamp and unclamp flask on mold train
· Load and unload blast, remove excess iron
· Change and adjust hooks
· Sort and dispose of defective castings (vacuum castings)
· Set up work floor, clean cores, position cores on floor for production
· Set chaplets/core, close mold, clamp mold, and pour
· Open molds and extract casting
· Degate casting and truck casting to cleaning room or knockout
· Dispose of gating system
· Shakeout flask and stack on floor
· Change patterns
· Find proper core box & rollover plate in storage
· Install and adjust setup as necessary for proper alignment
· Set, inspect and repair cores following prescribed methods and procedures
· Perform various duties as assigned by Supervisor
Basic Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required
Physical Demands:
· Willingness to work in non-climate controlled, foundry environment
· Willingness to work in confined spaces
· Use of hand and power tools
· Ability to push-pull 100 pounds occasionally
