JOB SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to manage accounts and drive results in the given territory. The primary responsibility is driving sales of SPX Cooling Technologies Evaporative Cooling Products for key market verticals such as chemical, petrochemical, refinery, general industrial and to a lesser extent power. The incumbent must also meet booking/revenue numbers and MBO for the quarters and the year. Furthermore, this role requires a clear sense of urgency and direction.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for assigned region and assigned accounts in the Louisiana / Gulf Coast regions.
- Capable of working at the plant level with customer equipment owner and subject matter experts
- Conduct Executive Level Communication within both the accounts and SPX
- Actively pursue and secure key/strategic accounts
- Perform inspections, write reports and prepare proposals
- Work in a cross-functional manner with various SPX teams to maximize sales in the given accounts
- Develop strategic capture plans for individual projects and accounts understanding customer needs and pain points, decision makers and buying process
- Position SPX as basis of design on opportunities
- Sell SPX value by promoting value propositions
- Understand competitive intensity on each opportunity to best enable success
- Establish relationships to move vertically and horizontally within an account
- Serve as product expert being able to solve routine product/systems issues
- Develop and clearly articulate account growth plans by product
- Contact and meet with customers to discuss all aspects of opportunities and proposals while closing opportunities
- Meet territory sales and standard margin goals for various product solutions
- Develop and cultivate customer relationships by meeting with customers, conducting presentations, and discussing existing projects
- Solicit and analyze customer feedback for product performance and value
- Develop competitive analyses and strategic positioning plans for each account
- Provide expert product knowledge across all product lines
- Build cross-functional relationships externally and internally to support accounts
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, notably in Engineering or another technical field
- 5-10 years experience in sales
- Knowledge of chemical/refining/industrial applications/cooling towers is helpful
- Aftermarket or distributor sales (representative management) experience is preferred
- Strong negotiation skills
CERTIFICATION/OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Willingness to travel at least 50 percent of the time
