            This is a position with Marley Engineered Products LLC.

SUMMARY: Cleans, assembles and brazes products to print, work order and product specifications. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Ensures safe operation of brazing machines that braze, solder, or spot weld fabricated products or components.
  • Adheres to established PPE requirements for area.
  • Checks connections for leaks using pressure testing.
  • Visually inspects units for unsatisfactory braze.
  • Works safely and ensures best quality products within acceptable efficiency levels.
  • Fully engages with team and other associates to troubleshoot problems and drive continuous improvement in the work area.
  • Adds chemicals and materials to workpieces or machines, using hand tools.
  • Cleans and maintains tools and machines, using equipment and hand tools.
  • Reads and records operational information on specified production reports.
  • Examines and tests brazed products or components, using testing devices.
  • Removes workpieces and parts from machinery, using hand tools.
  • Turns valves to start flow of gases, lights flame, and adjusts valves to obtain desired color and size of flame.
  • Brushes flux onto joint of workpiece or dips braze rod into flux to prevent oxidation of metal.
  • Melts and seperates brazed joints to remove and straighten damaged or misaligned components using hand torch.
  • Cuts the tubes on failed units and drains into proper container area.
  • Responsible for continuity of process by changing empty oxygen and acetylene tanks, using the proper handling methods.
  • Applies solder along adjoining edges of work pieces to solder joints, using soldering irons, gas torches, or electric-ultrasonic equipment
  • Adjusts electric current and timing cycles of resistance on brazing tester machine.
  • Selects torch tips, flux, and brazing alloys from work station instructions and/or Sequence of Events (SOE) or work orders.
  • Performs daily 5S on and around work area.
  • Applies knowledge of metallurgy to determine best method to accomplish quality braze (brass, copper, steel) and performs all job duties within quality standards using required safety procedures and equipment in accordance with company policies and practices.

 

 KNOWLEDGE ,SKILLS,  & ABILITIES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous brazing or welding experience Preferred
  • Manufacturing Experience Preferred
  • Ability to identify differences and inconsistencies in parts or operation (required)
  • Has basic math skills including but not limited to decimals, fractions, use of calculator (required)
  • Must have good attendance record
