Mechanical Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Design, test and develop product and product components following company and industry standards; develop non-routine test and evaluation procedures; assist in laboratory activities.  Report progress and individual project status to Engineering Manager, Director of New Product Development, and/or Vice President of Product Engineering as requested.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop product component parts, product subassemblies and product complete assemblies according to company and industry standards.
• Analyze and interpret test data and make product revisions as necessary to comply with safety and performance requirements and standards.
• Analyze, interpret, and be able use test data to perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
• Develop, maintain, and update DFMEAs, and assist in development of PFMEAs and Process Control Plans.
• Use the Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) tool to update product detailed layout, detailed prints, parts specifications, and Bills of Material.
• Use data from Customer Services, Technical Services, Warranty and Returns to develop plans for product improvements.
• Use the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process effectively and efficiently to manage change aimed toward product improvements.
• Review and Approve/Reject submitted ECRs, making sure all required data and supporting documents are submitted before sending to the Engineering Manager.
• Report status of active projects, Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders.
• Monitor & Facilitate Bill of Material accuracy of the PLCM tools.
• Create and maintain label information within the Label Database

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BS in Engineering Field, Preferably Mechanical
• 2+ years’ experience
