The below is a position with Marley Engineered Products. Marley Engineered Products is a marketplace leader in innovative comfort heating and ventilation solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial markets. With a portfolio that includes baseboard, wall, unit and infrared heaters as well as ceiling fans and air circulators, we create simplified heating solutions for our complex world.
JOB SUMMARY |
Conducts pre ship audits and “Out of Box Audits” of heaters and kits. May perform receiving inspection of products from exterior sources. Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments. Performs diversified testing or floor inspection of a variety of standard or custom parts, products, or materials that are being produced in-house or received from vendors. Ensures that assigned areas, production testing, parts, assemblies, final assemblies, processes and procedures comply with instructions, drawings and other company specifications.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Make appropriate reports of parts and/or assemblies inspected and other inspection activities as directed by supervision.
- Set up and operate direct measuring devices such as height gauges, optical comparator and hardness tester.
- Perform functional line tests to determine the operating characteristics of manufactured products.
- Audits workmanship and assembly process per bill of material and documentation.
- Enters audit results into on-line QA database.
- Contains all defective or suspect product discovered during audits.
- Initiates NCMR rejection for defective product.
- Isolates defective product to hold areas.
- Monitors inspection and tests instruments to ensure calibration status current.
- Goal: Audits 10% of products produced in assigned areas.
- Uses PDM to obtain drawings and specifications.
- Uses various measuring and tests instruments to perform duties as required by QA instructions.
- Uses QCDB database to reject nonconforming material.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
- High school or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 2+ yrs. experience in a manufacturing assembly environment
- Must have a prove attendance record without history of tardiness or absenteeism.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES |
- Consistently meets or exceeds commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity required
- Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Suite)
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding required.
- Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills required.
- Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Basic understanding of electricity (Desired)
- Metal fabrication experience (Desired)
- Effective leader with proven ability to: develop, coach and mentor as well as recommend termination of non-performers.
- Able to use basic metrology tools such as dial caliper, micrometer, tape measure and other various equipment.
- Able to use online systems and software such as PDM, MAPICS, QCBD, Excel, and Word.
- Able to interpret drawings, bill of material, work orders, packing lists, test specifications, product audit check lists and sampling plans.
- Excellent math and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate with all levels of the organization and articulate results and findings of audits / inspections.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS |
Ability to lift various size boxes. Be able to stand for long periods of time to floor operations. Mobility to Assembly, Receiving, and related departments.
