The below is a position with Marley Engineered Products.   Marley Engineered Products is a marketplace leader in innovative comfort heating and ventilation solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial markets.  With a portfolio that includes baseboard, wall, unit and infrared heaters as well as ceiling fans and air circulators, we create simplified heating solutions for our complex world.

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

Set up and operate punch press equipment to punch, notch or trim metal using preset tool configurations. 

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

 

  • Set up Mechanical and or Hydraulic punch press.
  • Performing operation to process.
  • Determine parts to be run and set up.
  • Retrieve, load, and unload specified materials and parts.
  • Produce parts to drawing tolerances and adjust as needed.
  • Ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Advise supervisor and QC of any quality issues.
  • Use safety devices as prescribed by the manufacturer or MEP.
  • Perform specified preventive maintenance of equipment and tooling and assist in repairs as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safe work habits of any associate that you assign to a job you or another set-up person has setup.
  • Fill out all required paperwork and train others on same.
  • Responsible for detailing the quality inspection required by any associate you assign to a job that you or another set-up person has setup.
  • Maintain 5S responsibilities of assigned work areas

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions.
  • Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings specifications, schedules, and the use of adjustable measuring instruments.
  • Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized standard methods and procedures
  • Moderate physical effort consisting of frequently lifting or moving average weight material not over 75 lbs.
  • Ability to identify differences and inconsistencies in parts or operations (required)
  • Ability to read blueprints (required)
  • Machine operating experience (preferred)
  • Able to understand production planning requirements.
  • Must have excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Experience and training in LOTO.
