The below is a position with ASPEQ Heating Group. ASPEQ Heating Group is a marketplace leader in innovative electric heating solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial markets.  With a portfolio that includes baseboard, wall, unit and infrared heaters as well as ceiling fans and air circulators, we create simplified heating solutions for our complex world.

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Software Development / IT Site Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting and optimizing the software engineering application ecosystem (i.e., development environments, code repositories, project, and pipeline tools, etc.). While the focus of this role revolves around Software Engineering Development, the role will contribute to the development of a variety of solutions to meet the business requirements of the company, with the emphasis in support and development of various business applications (ERP, CPQ, Shop Floor Applications-Scanning, other local apps, etc.). This position is the primary business contact for all financial business applications for analysis, configuration, and development. This role must have the ability to manage work schedule and prioritize requests, projects, and customer requests with limited oversight from upper management. Primary liaison as the business analyst between the business and the IT team in a company for multiple business locations. In addition, you will be the ASPEQ IT manager, helping facilitate their day-to-day IT needs and making sure the shared IT organization meets required service levels and business needs. This role will report to the VP of IT, Business Relationship Manager of HVAC-Heating, with dotted lines to the local business leadership.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

1. Software Development Management

  • Understand and document the business needs of and processes used by our Software Engineering functions.
  • Recommend and implement systems & improvements to meet their needs to protect the business Intellectual Property.
  • Coordinate with other application owners to establish & maintain any required integrations.
  • Maintain a healthy application portfolio and multi-year system roadmap with the support of Enterprise & HVAC resources.
  • Manage support staff & suppliers required to deliver required service levels, projects, and enhancements.
  • Ensure service levels are met, and project objectives are accomplished within budget and deadline.
  • Ensure compliance with IT controls, policies, and security requirements (secure coding procedures, access management, change management, DOA, etc.).
  • Provide level 2 support and maintain service levels on relevant resolver groups within the HVAC Segment.

 

2. General IT Management (Site Lead)

  • Support day-to-day business needs within ASPEQ through coordination with Enterprise IT.
  • Keep business unit team members apprised of IT related impacts, changes, and other activities.
  • Monitor and manage tickets, projects, etc. to support the business and trouble shooting of incident resolution with root cause documentation.
  • Provide application support to the following: business applications (ERP, CPQ, Shop Floor Applications-Scanning, other local apps, etc.).
  • Review and analyze industry solutions and tools to support the business.
  • Manage vendor relationships and license requirements.
  • Facilitate tracking, procurement and renewal of IT related resources that are in the business unit budget.
  • Support integration activities resulting from M&A.
  • Consults with business partners regarding specific projects and ascertains user requirements.  Solving management and customer dilemmas and concerns regarding poor understanding of systems by users, lack of adequate information and improperly presented information.
  • Lead the migrations / consolidations of ERPs.

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in supporting applications used by software developers (engineering, custom applications, etc.).
  • Software Development Management.
  • Advanced technological knowledge of structured programming application design.
  • Sound analytical skills, mathematical skills, and ability to solve critical problems.
  • Standard IT Controls and processes.
  • Self-driven and Self-managed

 

Required Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in managing business applications (ERP’s, CPQs, etc.).
  • Relevant professional certifications.

Travel & Working Environment

  • May require up to 10% (plus/minus) travel annually.
  • Hybrid schedule (Generally Three Days a Week in Office).
