The below is a position with the Electric Heat Business. Electric Heat is comprised of two businesses: Marley Engineered Products and ASPEQ Heating Group who are the marketplace leader in innovative electric heating solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial markets. With a portfolio that includes baseboard, wall, unit and infrared heaters as well as ceiling fans and air circulators, we create simplified heating solutions for our complex work.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Senior Director of Operations, you will lead and optimize operational excellence across our Electric Heat manufacturing business. This position has a strong focus on efficiency and scalability, and is critical to driving growth, improving processes, and ensuring profitability in a dynamic and evolving industry.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

- Operational Leadership
- Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production, supply chain, procurement, and distribution.
- Ensure smooth integration of new operational initiatives to align with company goals.
- Lead efforts to streamline processes and maximize efficiency across multiple facilities.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational effectiveness.
- Strategic Growth and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement strategies that support business growth and profitability.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts using Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practices to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Identify and implement automation and advanced manufacturing technologies to maintain competitive advantages.
- People and Performance Management
- Build and lead high-performing teams across manufacturing, supply chain, and operational functions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration to achieve organizational goals.
- Mentor and develop talent, ensuring succession planning and workforce readiness for future needs.
- Maintain a focus on employee safety and well-being by enforcing rigorous safety standards and protocols.
- Financial and Resource Optimization
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with finance and leadership teams to evaluate the return on investment (ROI) for operational improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Regulatory and Quality Compliance
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant industry standards, including safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards for products and services.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize operational disruptions.

Required Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record of leading operations excellence in a high-growth, dynamic business.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Strong financial acumen and budget management skills
- Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of the Electric Heat industry
- Experience with ISO standards
- Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field
Travel & Working Environment
- This position may be based at anyone of our locations primarily in South Carolina and Missouri.
- This role requires routine travel to all locations, approximately 25-50%
