How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an ERP Project Manager, you will play a vital role in organizational success, by leading, designing, and implementing business solutions to drive forward progress, and modernization efforts across the entire enterprise. Projects are typically large in scale, high risk, and span organizational and national boundaries including multiple business units and service partners/vendors.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Project Planning and Implementation
- Collaborate with stakeholders (business, IT leadership, systems integrators), create plans, drive the execution, and clearly communicate the progress of projects
- Measure and report on project financials and budget vs. actuals
- Liaise with other parts of the business to ensure alignment with the IT strategy
- Work with the business community to ensure all issues are resolved as quickly as possible
- Identify and manage complex interdependencies between tasks and meeting deadlines
- Interface with other systems while handling complex data sources and legacy data type
- Organize and develop project plans that address major challenges, while being flexible to manage changes that arise throughout the project, as needed
- Conduct project reviews at the end of each phase and project as a whole
- Communication and Support
- Translate stakeholder needs to system/process improvements; able to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical or less technical audiences
- Build rapport and engage cross-functionally with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and best practices
- Manage programs consisting of multiple projects involving stakeholders and resources from various departments
- Proactively engage the appropriate technical resources for a given activity, and awareness of which resources are not required (e.g., those that can be informed at a later date
- Regularly interface with senior stakeholders and business leads across the organization, and aid fellow IT colleagues in resolving technical problems
- Ensure communications, both written and verbal, are timely, and unambiguous
- Continuous Improvement
- Provide structure to loosely defined processes and develop requirements and processes when presented with ambiguity
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and best practices
- Work closely with management to identify and enable change in the business
- Continuously seek process improvement opportunities by identifying and recommending changes that improve IT efficiency and effectiveness
- Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- 5 years of experience planning and leading ERP projects from kickoff to go live
- At least 3 successful end-to-end ERP projects
- Experience in delivering complex, global, business-critical technical enterprise application projects
- Experience managing projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies
- Technical implementation capabilities
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Professional certifications (PMP, Scrum Master) are a plus
- Successful in leading technical teams that design, develop, deploy, support, and govern business applications, with a proven track record in BI, CRM, ERP
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to think not only in terms of highlighting issues but also in terms of identifying and implementing solutions
- Domain Knowledge
- Flexible mindset, with the ability to remain composed amidst stressful situations
