How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a HR Generalist, your responsibilities will range from day-to-day administration all the way to coaching and development. You will quickly execute the small stuff and then shift gears to enterprise-level strategic projects on the same day.
This role is all about engaging with your teammates and making an impact. It requires good listening skills, creative thinking and a commitment to excellence.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Talent Management
- Support creative and robust staffing and recruitment processes to meet the needs of a growing organization.
- Support career development, provide coaching to employees and leaders, as well as provide support for performance issues, interviewing & selection, compensation, benefits, new hire orientation.
- Manage and support enterprise-wide Talent Management projects and programs including Performance Management, Talent Reviews, University Recruiting Relationships and Rotational Programs, Employer Branding and others as identified.
- Project Management:
- Lead or participate in projects to achieve the defined objectives, ensuring that roles, responsibilities, and expectations are understood and fulfilled.
- Establish processes and policies and provide recommendations for improvements and changes that enhance the efficiency of HR processes and controls.
- Employee Relations & Engagement
- Partner with SPX Corporate leaders and employees to help translate people strategies into action.
- Lead a cross-functional team to develop and implement Employee Engagement Team for the Corporate staff.
- Administration:
- Coordinate, facilitate and monitor compliance with all mandatory training programs including, but not limited to Annual Insider Certification, Pay Planning, Performance Management, Annual Benefit Enrolment, etc.
- Partner with Corporate HRIS/HRMS teams to configure SuccessFactors modules, such as Career Development and Performance Management to support business initiatives.
- Manage Corporate employee Leave of Absence administration.
- Provide and analyze relevant data and metrics and provide a recommendation on various HR action plans
- Manage Corporate HR compliance, data integrity and related administration.
- Manage immigration matters including visa applications and on-going renewals.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of related work experience or experience and education equivalent
- Strong understanding of Human Resource concepts, practices and procedures
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be an effective communicator for all levels of employees including senior executives.
- Possess ability to communicate effectively in presentations (by creating and writing them) and meetings.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding.
- Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.
- Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy.
- Works well under stress with the ability to deliver on time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in business/human resources-related field
Travel & Working Environment
- Hybrid Schedule, 4 – 5 days on site per week
- Less than 10% travel
