How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Security Administration Intern, you will work closely with the SPX Information Security team to operate a comprehensive information security program. You will work with various systems and technologies to ensure standard security controls are in place and learn operational security systems. You will support the SPX Information Security team with daily administration while learning and practicing skills to protect information systems in compliance with security policies, processes and standards.
Candidates comfortable with base level administration of Windows/Linux operating systems, network and cybersecurity technology, and application security will have a great opportunity to gain real world experience and sharpen their skills.
What you can expect to learn in this role (Job Duties)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be to:
- Support the Information Security team in maintaining and operating security solutions
- Monitor reports and security logs for unusual events
- Provide vulnerability management reporting and remediation tracking
- Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support
- Assist in completing information security operations documentation
- Research security alerts and recommend remedial actions
- Other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization

Ideal Experience & Skills
- Technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems (Windows and Unix)
- Interest in learning security technologies, such as network security appliances, identity and access management (IAM) systems, endpoint security solutions, vulnerability management tools and security event monitoring systems
Education & Certifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity or Security Engineering
Travel & Working Environment
- Hybrid schedule
- This role is full-time through the summer Months (May through August) with the potential to continue on a part-time basis through the school year
