How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Analyst, you will be part of the Strategic Sourcing Center of Excellence team that is accountable for developing and implementing sourcing projects. This role will focus on supporting data analysis, model building, and process development. The CoE Analyst will be developing and maintaining KPI’s, tracking and analyzing commodities and spend data across multiple ERP systems and businesses. Critical thinking skills to support business problems through data and analytics is crucial to the position.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Assist Sourcing Leader with work priorities, support the development of key Sourcing KPI’s and dashboards, and automated maintenance.
- Document and prepare internal sourcing requirements for commodities and programs.
- Manage multiple priorities and resources in a dynamic environment across various businesses and organize complex information.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Develop, document, and deploy standard processes, based upon best practices, to ensure proper function and results within the Sourcing org.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to draw conclusions from data and develop actionable recommendations.
- Identify evolving analytical tools, systems, and processes that may be used to improve overall performance and efficiency.
- Develop and distribute supplier performance management reports and support resulting supplier reviews.
- Support commodity and change managers, as well as supplier quality with sourcing opportunity identification and benefits tracking.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

Required Experience
- Proven analytical experience through college level coursework.
- Experience in ERP systems / applications are preferred.
- Experience supporting Sourcing, Supply Chain or Manufacturing environments a plus.
- Proven track record of performance via internships or co-op programs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Strong process analysis and documentation skills required.
- Willing team player with strong collaborative skills, able to interface both within and outside of the Strategic Sourcing organization at various levels.
- Must possess initiative with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong command of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) analytical skills using Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas etc.), SharePoint
- Capabilities in SQL (for extracting data) and Power Query (Transforming and loading data).
- Power BI (preferred), Qlik, Business Warehouse to generate automated reports.
- Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques: GLM multiple regression, logistic regression, log-linear regression, variable selection.
- Programming skills with querying languages: SQL, SAS, etc. and Power Query for transforming and loading data.
- Experience with analytics for complex projects is a plus.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Supply Chain or related field
Travel & Working Environment
- Must be detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment while having a passion for problem solving.
- Some travel required ~10%.
