How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Saw & Packing Operator, you will be responsible for the assurance of quality product during the cutting and packaging of fill packs.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
• Complete daily production report and submit to lead
• Measure each fill pack to ensure it is within the required length, width, and height
• Visually check each fill pack for proper bonding point and proper alignment
• Check for proper amount of glue between sheets
• Ensure all tools are accounted for at the tool board and inspected
• Record and report all equipment failures
• Follow all lockout/tagout procedures
• Move fill packs to the finished goods storage area when completed
• Assist in maintaining all 5S, lean manufacturing and environmental sustainability goals for the facility
• Clean up work area at the end of shift
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
• Read a tape measure and ruler and convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
• Meet all product quality requirements
• Ability to use precision hand tools
• Effectively Operate a forklift
• Attention to detail
Education & Certifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred
Travel & Working Environment
• Onsite
• The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Occasionally sit, bend, grasp, push/pull, climb, crawl, twist, reach and work at heights. The employee occasionally lifts and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Manufacturing environment requires use of required Personal Protective Equipment, such as foot, eye and ear protection when in production locations
• Potential exposure to bad weather, excessive heat, and/or excessive noise
