Summary
An Electronics Testing Technician participates in the daily testing and evaluation of obstruction lighting systems and components. This position will report to the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Follows defined processes and FAA regulations when performing tests of new or returned equipment.
- Following quality standards including ESD protection
- Performs the testing of aviation obstruction lighting equipment according to schedule and communicated priorities.
- Test and performs warranty evaluation on RMA products.
- Provides detailed reports on RMA findings.
- Uses proper data entry procedures as specified by the work instruction.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment in a timely fashion when failures are identified.
- Track and communicates any production issues or needed process improvements to the Lead Technician.
- Follows guidance and prioritization given by Lead Technician.
- Works in a positive/results oriented manner in order to get the job done under minimal supervision, always being viewed as open, ethical, and trustworthy.
- Works in a highly collaborative manner with others to pursue department/company goals.
- Effectively utilizes available resources, technology, and tools to complete work.
- Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements.
- Actively participates in operational problem solving/quality improvement activities.
- Assist with the movement of material as required following proper procedures and safety practices.
- Participate in daily standup meetings to increase communication.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proactively seeks solutions to problems
- Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of electronic systems
- Experienced in SAP preferred
- Soldering IPC-J-STD-001 certification preferred
Education & Experience:
- HS diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Good technical background
- Requires minimal supervision
- SAP proficiency
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a climate-controlled production testing lab environment working under normal production conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, caustic chemicals, and the risk of electric shock. It is therefore necessary to adhere to all established safety guidelines/procedures.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear; the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
