JOB SUMMARY

 

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact.  As the SAP System Manager / IT Site Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting and optimizing the SAP ERP system to enhance business processes and drive operational efficiency in the Detection & Measurement (D&M) segment.  In addition, you will be the Aids to Navigation (AtoN) platform’s IT manager, helping facilitate its day-to-day IT needs and making sure the shared IT organization meets required service levels and business needs.  This role will report to the Director, Business Relationship Manager of D&M.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

 

  SAP ERP Management

 

  • Understand and document business processes within the scope of SAP ERP
  • Recommend and implement improvements to align SAP with business needs.
  • Coordinate with other application owners to establish & maintain integrations with SAP
  • Maintain a healthy application lifecycle through the planning and execution of multi-year SAP roadmap with the support of Enterprise Applications Team
  • Manage suppliers required to deliver SAP projects and enhancements
  • Ensure SAP service levels are met, and project objectives are accomplished within budget and deadline

 

SAP ERP Support & Compliance

 

  • Ensure compliance with IT controls, policies, and security requirements (access management, change management, DOA, etc.)
  • Assist with developing and providing training to end users
  • Support business in necessary testing to validate changes to SAP environment
  • Provide interim support for ERP / business systems slated to migrate to SAP via 3rd party or internal resources
  • Provide level 3 support and maintain service levels for SAP resolver groups within the D&M segment
  • Maintain an SAP service delivery knowledge base to improve first and second level resolution rates

 

General IT Management

  • Support day-to-day business needs within AtoN through coordination with Enterprise IT
  • Keep AtoN team members apprised of IT related impacts, changes, and other activities
  • Support integration activities resulting from M&A
  • Review and analyze industry solutions and tools to support the business
  • Manage vendor relationships and license requirements
  • Facilitate tracking, procurement and renewal of IT related resources that are in the AtoN budget

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who:

 

  • Has comprehensive understanding of major SAP modules including prior work experience in a discrete manufacturing environment utilizing SAP ECC6
  • Demonstrates solid analytical capabilities to evaluate issues or new business requirements
  • Demonstrates the ability to work on a number of deadline driven tasks simultaneously with a sense of urgency
  • Has flexibility to work in a changing environment with rapidly changing deadlines
  • Demonstrates strong troubleshooting skills

Ideal Experience & Skills

  • Prefer experience in implementing SAP ECC6

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or similar
  • 5+ years of experience with SAP configuration and solutioning
  • Relevant professional certification in SAP

  • Hybrid schedule
  • May require up to 10% travel
