How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Product Test Supervisor, you will provide leadership to a team of Test Technicians. This individual is responsible for scheduling the daily work requirements for the team and balancing the needs of production. This position also works with the RMA technician providing support, resources, and guidance as needed. Additionally, the Product Test Supervisor will work with the engineering department to develop production test plans, procedures, and test limits, including routine performance testing and sample-lot testing for validation of design specs. Product testing includes digital and analog circuits used in RF communications receiving equipment in the LF through SHF frequency bands (typically between 0.1 MHz and 26 GHz), including antennas, receivers, synthesizers, digitizers and computerized signal analysis equipment. This is a 100% on-site role.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

- Supervise a team of Test Technicians
- Ability to prioritize and organize daily workload and responsibilities by assigning personnel to various tasks based on the individual’s skills and capabilities as required by workload and production requirements. Monitor and balance the various tests for throughput based on the assembly and shipping schedules.
- Set expectations and goals for employees and ensure performance meets expectations.
- Address performance issues, lead hiring and training.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to your team.
- Constantly evaluate the necessary resources which include people, equipment and tools needed to test and assemble to the production plan. Move, adjust and put in requests for additional resources as needed.
- Oversee product test (PT) operational systems and processes assuring practices are consistent and processes are followed while looking for opportunities for improvement.

- Implement test methods, determine necessary test equipment, design and replicate test fixtures, create new test procedures, modify and/or create new Lab View projects.
- Partner with the Manufacturing Manager and engineering design staff in the design, specification, and/or implementation of Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) and Built-In Self-Test (BIST) features, including defining necessary built-in software functions to calibrate and validate the performance of products.
- Create and implement appropriate calibration, maintenance and repair of test equipment
- Formulate PT strategic and annual operational objectives
- Create and monitor PT KPIs. Creates mitigation plans when measures consistently miss target and/or trend negative.
- Anticipates and tracks operational and tactical risks both within PT and in areas outside PT that can impact PT’s performance and provides solutions to prevent and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate closely with EM, RMA, planning, quality suppliers and 1500.
- Resolve issues in these other functional areas that prevent PT from starting and finishing testing as planned.
- Ensure continuity of shared processes, systems, utilization of space and equipment.
- Work with the Quality Manager to put quality controls in place to ensure PT tasks are performed on-time at the highest quality level while finding ways to improve quality.
- Communicates workplace safety requirements and precautions to PT employees.
- Manage department budgets and forecasts
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

Required Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ hands-on work experience in electronic test.
- Minimum of 3 years' in supervision.
- Must be fluent in English, fluency in multiple languages is highly desirable.
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Green card holder)
- Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
- CI (Continuous Improvement) mentality, recognize where change is needed, drive change, take “change” risks.
- The ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical / electronic schematics
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Team-oriented individual.
- Strong hardware troubleshooting ability of analog circuits.
- RF experience a plus. Intermediate programming skills in Lab View or equivalent language a plus.
- Experience in design and building automated test fixtures required.
- Specials Skills Required (i.e. Troubleshoot to component level, etc.):
- Network analyzer and spectrum analyzer experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with Oracle and Agile systems a plus.
- Experience in test and debug of digital circuits a plus.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing a plus.
- Knowledge of assembly, PCBA, cables/harnesses and metals.
- Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and applying to operations
Education & Certifications
- BS/BA in science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
Travel & Working Environment

The compensation information that follows is a reasonable estimate for the position and is provided pursuant to legal requirements in this state. The salary estimate provided represents the typical salary range for the position, and other factors may be used to determine the successful candidate’s actual salary, including skill set, experience, training, education, organizational needs, internal equity, market data, and geographic zone. The estimated salary range for this position is: $90,000 - $110,630.00. At SPX, compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan, subject to the rules governing the plan.
