How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX has a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Hourly Staff Recruiter II, you will ensure that we source, attract, hire, and retain the best employees while growing a strong talent pipeline. You will partner with manufacturing and HR leaders to identify strong candidates and proactively address hiring needs. The successful Hourly Staff Recruiter II is proactive and collaborative, with full-cycle recruiting experience and the desire and ability to effectively promote SPX as a great place to work.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Sourcing
- Source and recruit candidates for manufacturing roles using a variety of methods, including job sites, databases, social media, and job fairs
- Post positions and review job boards/sites for potential candidates
- Screen candidate resumes and applications
- Conduct phone screens and interviews
- Assess candidates’ relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities to ensure the best candidates are selected
- Act as a point of contact for HR, hiring managers, and candidates
- Promote SPX’s reputation as a strong culture and great place to grow a career
- Support diversity and inclusion through broadening applicant pools
- Stay accountable to hiring and retention standards for assigned location
- Metrics and Documentation
- Help develop and update job descriptions to ensure accuracy
- Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate locations
- Create and maintain tracking sheets in order to identify and understand various pieces of candidate data
- Track candidate information and provide regular updates to HR and hiring managers
- Maintain and update HR forms and policies as needed
- Schedule interviews
- Provide selected candidates with offers
- Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and apply best-in-class HR recruiting practices
- Actively participate and network with associations to build a network of candidates while promoting the SPX employer brand
- Proactively identify new recruiting sources that expand the diversity and inclusion of the applicant pool
- Participate in other recruiting and HR projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the organization
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience in high volume recruiting environment
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Prior experience recruiting manufacturing production staff such as Assembly, Forklift, Machine Operators, Welders, and other Skilled Trades
- Prior experience working at a Staffing Agency is preferred
- Prior experience with various selection processes including phone screening, interviewing, and leading job fairs
- Familiarity with HR databases, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and HR Information systems
- Hands-on experience with recruiting software
- Knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, EEO, ADA, HIPAA, etc.) is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset, with proven ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to keep information confidential
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Travel & Working Environment
- Travel to locations supported for onsite job fairs (up to 25%)
