How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an IT Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for solving business problems by adapting ERP, product configurator, and other business software to fit the needs of the business. You will be part of a team working directly with end users, management, and independent sales representatives on resolution of business concerns and plant related needs. The successful IT Business Systems Analyst possesses a strong technical background within IT and expertise in the support of end users with both application and technical issues. This is not a remote position and requires ability to work onsite.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
1. ERP and Business systems
- Adapt ERP systems to meet business requirements
- Provide business and shop-floor solutions, working with end users
- Collaborate with management and independent sales representatives on needs and special projects
- Support business processes including product and job costing, accounting, order entry, MRP, shipping, purchasing, product structures and routing, and inventory management
- Participate in IT requirements determination and solution selection
2. Custom Application Development
- c# and vb.net, client-server and asp.net
- Delphi programming
- General Web Development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
- Java (general and Android specific)
- RPV IV
- Factory CNC equipment and laser cutting
3. Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT infrastructure and processes by providing feedback and recommending solutions.
- Prioritize tasks, coming from multiple areas of the business.
- Aid in the development and/or implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, actively seeking opportunities for development and knowledge enhancement.
- Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- At least 5 years’ IT experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- General database knowledge and data manipulation for purposes of creating executive reports and dashboards (SQL Server, DB2, InterBase and Birst)
- IBM i
- Infor XA, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics AX
- Product configurators (CPQ systems), especially in a manufacturing environment (Cincom Socrates, or others)
- Server Management
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or another related field preferred
- APICS CPIM Certification a plus
