Engineered Air Movement (EAM) is a business within the SPX HVAC segment with brands that include Strobic Air Technologies, Cincinnati Fan, and Tamco Dampers.  With its high attention to detail for products that are durable, energy efficient, and unparalleled in performance, companies rely on EAM to provide comfort (and mission critical) industrial cooling solutions, critical exhaust systems, and reliable dampers.

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Product Manager in Engineering, you will be responsible to communicate strategy and technical aspects of product development. The successful Product Manager is responsible for the creation of the product roadmap, working closely with other teams to ensure product meets technical requirements, is delivered on time, and within budget. 

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

1. Product Development

  • Figures out requirements, designs, infrastructure needs, and implementation details
  • Tests products to ensure they meet performance and quality standards
  • Ensures the team can execute on identified business objectives
  • Improve and update existing product solutions
  • Effectively communicate strategy ensuring team understands product’s vision and how to achieve it

 

2. Market Position, Analysis and Technical Acumen

  • Plan and organize product lines from conceptual stages through the entire product life cycle with ownership of products’ growth and profitability
  • Identify new markets and revenue opportunities through research and competitive analysis
  • Define go-to-market approaches, growth targets, and sales plans
  • Maintain and leverage industry intelligence, customer insights, and competitive research
  • Develop, execute, and lead product portfolio strategy and product development and/or enhancement initiatives
  • Establish pricing strategies balancing market trends, cost factors, and revenue objectives

What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience  

  • 5+ years of relevant techincal experience with product management

 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Ability to translate technical insights into business strategies
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead new product development using Stage Gate/Phase Gate process
  • Experience with pricing strategies, forecasting, financial modeling, and distribution channels
  • Proven ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and provide analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Understanding of relational database concepts
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar)

Education & Certifications 

  • BS in Engineering, Technical
