How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Shipping Coordinator, you will work as a team to meet on time delivery and exceed customer expectations. You will verify and keep records on incoming and/or outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
1. Safety
- Ensure carriers, shipping and receiving personnel, and other logistical areas comply with safety standards and legal requirements
- Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business
- Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition
- Report issues/repairs to team lead or supervisor
2. Delivery
- Assess and resolve issues relating to transportation, customer problems, import and export, and logistic systems
- Communicate and problem solve with internal departments, such as customer service, manufacturing, shipping, and receiving, as needed to ensure all tasks of the business units are being completed
- Prepare shipping quotes for customers
- Prepare shipping documents, and be able to identify, label, organize and load product on outbound carriers
- Continuously improve shipping processes for efficiency and well-organized work environment
- Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision
3. Quality
- Maintain exact and consistent records
- Ensure product is packaged according to instructions for safe delivery to customer
- Able to self-monitor quality of own work, and report to lead or supervisor unusual, defective, or operating difficulties
- Complete all tasks and work within designed quality guidelines
4. Culture
- Desire to do the right thing
- Team player, aiding other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to position
- Punctual, on time, ready to work
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- 1 year experience with logistics processes preferably in manufacturing
- LTL, FTL, customer set up, and outside service logistic set up
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate data and information
- Excellent math skills
- Self-driven, able to work independently, and as a team
- Understanding of Product Data Management (PDM) structures and functionalities within ERP/MRP systems
- Able to work between organizations to achieve goals
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
