As the Lead Service Trainer, you will play a critical business role for us. This role is responsible for leading the day-to-day training of customer products, and activities of the Field Service Department.

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Conduct training sessions for customer employees and field service personnel on new products, ensuring a thorough understanding of features, operation, and maintenance.
- Adapt training methods to suit different learning styles and technical backgrounds.
- Provide hands-on demonstrations and interactive learning experiences.
- Develop and continuously improve training materials, including manuals, presentations, and guides.
- Ensure training content aligns with company standards, product updates, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate training logistics, including facility setup, materials, and necessary equipment.
- Monitor trainee progress through assessments, feedback forms, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain training records, attendance logs, and certification documentation.
- Provide regular reports to management and customers on training effectiveness and participant competency levels.
- Act as a point of contact for trainees requiring additional support or clarification.
- Assist in troubleshooting product-related issues that arise during or after training sessions.
- Offer follow-up training sessions as needed.
- Test, troubleshoot and repair production and field service electronics/mechanical assemblies, parts and equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES |
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical knowledge of the company's products.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office
- Sound knowledge of electronic/mechanical assemblies
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
Required Education / Experience
- Repair Certificate from college or technical school
- High School Diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of electromechanical skills and competencies
- 1-3 years supervisory experience
Preferred Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years related experience in training

As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $96,500 to $104,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
