JOB SUMMARY
This role’s primary responsibility is to be exposed to a variety of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) functions and projects throughout the duration of the internship while providing general EHS support for Cooling Technologies employees. The successful incumbent will thrive in a fast-paced environment, will remain organized, and will prioritize work effectively so that all tasks are completed on time and accurately. The intern will be a team member on various projects with individual responsibility for certain aspects of the project. The successful incumbent will also be detail-oriented, able to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner, and able to work well with others. Additionally, it is important for the incumbent to be able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels throughout the organization. This experience will afford the incumbent valuable exposure to multiple facets of Environmental, Health and Safety.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete training in Velocity to able to manage and update safety issues for the facility.
- Assist the EHS Manager with projects
- Audit firs aid room and determine process for replacing items
- Hazard waste process documentation
- Fire extinguisher map / Door labeling exits & map
- Ladder program
- Electrical panel map / Hose reel map
- Bottle identification program / facility bottle cleanup
- Evacuation procedures
- Develop and distribute employee communications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- At least junior level in a Bachelor's program majoring in EHS or a related field
- 3.0/4.0 GPA or better
- Strong interest in the field of environmental, health and safety
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel
