As part of Detection and Measurement, CUES is the world’s leading developer of water, wastewater, and storm water inspection equipment. With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Cabinet Technician I, you will be responsible for installing vinyl flooring, wall coverings, cabinetry, and trim within specialty vehicles in a high-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires the ability to interpret and follow vehicle layout drawings, as well as collaborate effectively with cabinet builders to execute custom installations.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Preparation and Setup:
- Prepares for work to be accomplished by gathering the necessary tools and hardware.
- Measures, marks, and cuts various materials (aluminum, wood, etc.).
- Equipment Operation and Installation:
- Operates various equipment - including power saws, table saws, drills, screw guns, sanders, routers, and nail guns.
- Installs cabinetry and trim using fasteners and adhesives.
- Quality and Safety Standards:
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organization standards and policies.
- Maintains high quality production results by following organization standards.
- Lean manufacturing/5S experience a plus.
- Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Education
- HS Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3 to 7 years cabinet building, fabrication, automotive manufacturing, tooling
- Automated Beam Saw
- Weeke Machine experience preferred; but not required
Travel & Working Environment
- Onsite, Monday – Thursday.
- 5 AM – 3:30 PM
- Must be able to grip and operate hand tools with a minimum of 50 in/lbs. of force
- Must be able to grip fine contacts and wires with one hand and operate crimping tool with the other hand
- Must be able to see fine components and have manual dexterity to properly place and solder these components.
- Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. for at least 15 feet.
