As part of Detection and Measurement, CUES is the world’s leading developer of water, wastewater, and storm water inspection equipment.   With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for quoting / coordinating inbound / outbound shipments for all sites, including any international imports and exports. You will work closely with Procurement, Finance, Sales and Shipping teams to ensure all requests are completed each day.  Responsibility includes handling all freight claims, auditing freight bills, tariffs and broker fees. This role is responsible for the audit and approval of all freight, tariff and broker fee invoices as well as maintaining part # data in the ERP system of HTS codes, Dangerous Goods identification and other fields needed to process shipments effectively.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Administrative Duties
  • Manage / maintain ERP data to support the shipping process.
    • HTS code identification / maintenance
    • Part characteristics – Volume, weight & material
    • Dangerous Goods detail / identification
  • Audit / validation of open orders for all sites
  • Initiate shipping claims as required and follow until closed
  • Assist with training of Shipping personnel – All sites
  • Clear and effective communication required to provide shipping status updates and freight quotes as required in writing/verbally to external and internal clients in a timely manner.

 

  1. Shipping Operations and Management: 
  • Ensure best shipping practices and standard procedures are being followed.
  • Work closely with Production Control and the Shipping team to ensure production schedule requirement are being met / supported.
  • Coordinate and oversee all domestic shipments and international imports and exports – including quoting as required and creation of Commercial Invoices, USMCA entry forms and ensuring AES filings are submitted when required.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and international regulations related to shipping, including export and import regulations. This includes understanding and adhering to customs requirements, trade agreements, and transportation regulations. 
  • Audit and provide authorization for all freight bills, tariffs and broker fees.
  • Review and take action on all exceptions identified in CASS (SPX billing system for shipping)
  • Assist in the acquiring Temporary Import Bonds as required and coordinating shipping / exporting of CUES trucks, demo equipment, etc.

 

     7.   Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve shipping process flow
  • Identify and implement annual cost savings initiatives centered around freight expense
  • Improve utilization of ERP system to maximize efficiencies related to the shipping of dangerous goods and international shipments.
  • Support all satellite locations ensuring their shipping processes are aligned to maximize efficiency.

 

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in a material, supply chain or logistics position
  • Certified in IATA and DOT Dangerous Goods shipping
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 2+ years of experience with shipping / UPS / Fed EX / DHL / LTL freight
  • Experience with shipping International (inbound / outbound)
  • Experience with shipping to Canada (USMCA regulations)

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years Logistics experience required

Travel & Working Environment

  • 8:30 AM – 5 PM
  • Monday through Friday, on-site.
