As part of Detection and Measurement, CUES is the world’s leading developer of water, wastewater, and storm water inspection equipment. With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our electro-mechanical equipment. Your responsibilities will include the meticulous assembly and disassembly of components, conducting thorough quality testing, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and executing precise repairs. Operating within a fast-paced, customer service-driven environment, your expertise will directly support our commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable solutions to our clients
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Technical Expertise and Mechanical Proficiency:
- Soldering skills
- Understanding of various measuring equipment (Digital multi-meters, mega ohm meter, etc.)
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Experience with building and troubleshooting wiring harnesses
- Working knowledge of clutch and bearing systems
- Knowledge of a motor and its internal components
- Possess a general knowledge of the use and operation of basic hand and power tools
- Analytical and Documentation Skills:
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, schematics, and test procedures
- Ability to annotate and maintain repair documentation
- Have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Possess basic computer skills

- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Possess good attendance and work ethic
- Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner
- Have the flexibility to work overtime when required
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with building and troubleshooting wiring harnesses.
Education & Certifications
- Candidate must have a minimum of a high school diploma.
Travel & Working Environment
- Normal work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Must be flexible to work overtime as required.
- The technician will be working in an assigned work bench or truck area on the facility.
- Periodically lift to fifty pounds and spend hours standing, sitting, and/or walking during a normal day.
