As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants.   With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Strategic Commercial Analyst, you will provide strategic and analytical support to the commercial team and gain insight into the commercial and channel performance to drive growth.  The incumbent will utilize the existing systems to generate regular reports and analysis of the business, it channels, products and customers and assist in strategic analysis and planning as needed.  Key areas of responsibility include market performance analysis by product, industry, and channel, rep performance scorecards, automated reports on business results, monthly SIOP forecast and forecast accuracy measurement, and other projects as directed.  Success in this role requires excellent analytical and systems aptitude and a comprehensive understanding of internal quoting and order management systems.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and update weekly and monthly commercial performance reports
  • Develop monthly SIOP forecasts and track forecast accuracy by rep and RSM
  • Utilize analytics and commercial data in CRM to track business performance by channel, market, rep and customer
  • Collect and analyze win/loss data
  • Develop and maintain rep scorecards measuring rep performance
  • Make regular presentations to management on business performance
  • Participate and contribute to AOP and strategic plans
  • Travel to customer sites to gain insight
  • Other activities as directed

 

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with data analytics, forecasting, finance and distribution models
  • Experience with quoting and order management systems

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong financial aptitude and analytical skills
  • Strategic decision making skills
  • Advanced knowledge of QTC and SAP or similar systems 
  • Advanced knowledge of data analytics and relevant software
  • Knowledge of SPX Cooling products
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Broad product and market knowledge
  • Formal exposure to process improvement methodology
  • Strong knowledge of functions relevant to product management including sales, market segment analysis, purchasing, product engineering, production, cost analysis, quality and customer service

 

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems or Engineering

 

Travel & Working Environment

  • Office environment with varying degrees of noise levels
  • Some travel may be required
