How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

 

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Regional Sales Manager Nordics, you are responsible to improve the organization's market position and achieve financial growth through the active promotion of marine signals and related services. This person defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions and regulatory environment. 

Reporting directly to the Sales Leader this position will be a strategic thinker with proven negotiation skills and will be accountable for delivering measurable results that achieves or exceeds revenue and gross margin targets. This person will be capable of contributing meaningful customer and/or market insights to the sales and marketing functions and will play an integral role in the overall growth of the organization.


The Regional Sales Manager will play a vital role in SPX marine aids to navigation sales organization. SPX Aids to Navigation sells highly technical products to governmental infrastructure agencies directly or through distribution. The business is global and the sales organization is present in all continents.


The main focus area for this role is within the Eruopean and African region. The business consists of both B2G and B2B, and requires a broad understanding of different cultures and values typical for international sales. Top accounts are the direct governmental accounts in the Nordic countries so we are looking for particular strengths in this area. The Regional Sales Manager helps define long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals, and will be accountable for delivering measurable results that achieves or exceeds revenue and gross margin targets. This position is open in our operations in Finland.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

 

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

 

  • Business development with main focus in the Nordic region
  • Account management of new and existing governmental and private accounts
  • Maintain customer databases, sales and expense reports and keep management informed of accomplishments, problems, new opportunities etc.  
  • Develop and fine tune the distribution channel
  • Active management of the project and opportunity funnel
  • Support the distributors and end customers technically and commercially
  • Manage the tender process for public procurement opportunities
  • Team with the Product Management and Product Development 
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s product line(s), engineering and development capabilities, and order management processes 
  • Negotiate and close business deals against established sales targets
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s product line, engineering and development capabilities, and order management processes. 
  • Understands and complies will all company policy and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure effective and proactive use of the company's Customer Relationship Management tool.
  • Ensure all required reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics and values 
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with other company departments and or businesses.

 

Required Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Extensive experience in business development or technical sales (products and solutions)
  • Experience of international sales and sales channel management 
  • Good basic understanding of technology (mechanics, electronics, IT)
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative and willing to travel
  • Fluent in English and Swedish is key, Finnish is working language inside company
  • Business to Government experience is an advantage
  • Experience in marine environment is a benefit
