How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Sales Project Manager, you will provide support to our sales and customer service team and assist in managing sales activities and customer inquiries. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. 

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

1. Strategic project take-offs and proposal generation

  • Engineering plan review, take-off, and product selection for data center and large strategic projects
  • Accurate and complete proposal generation that is to be delivered to owners and general contractors

2. Internal and external project management

  • Order entry thru delivery
  • Collaborate and work with production, supply chain and sales to meet shipment dates and customer expectations. Coordination with customers on construction schedules
  • Coordination with external stakeholders: reps, general contractors, owners on project expectations (product details/selection, project/delivery schedules.
  • Involvement with project review meetings, site walk-throughs, and key customer meetings

3. Sales Analytics

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential market opportunities 
  • Analyse sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to refine sales strategies and enhance business development efforts 
  • Monitor and report on sales activities, trends, and competitor activities to senior management 
  • Present analytics, research, and strategy development including in written presentation form (PowerPoint presentations) 
  • Tracking and measuring initiative progress, such as wins/losses, quote levels, products offered, customers quoted, competitors bidding, BOD.

4. Continuous Improvement 

  • Provide feedback and insights from customers to the product development team to drive continuous improvement and innovation  
  • Stay updated on product specifications, industry trends, market conditions, and new sales techniques  
  • Identify opportunities to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs  
  • Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization

 

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • 2 years of experience in a sales support or project management role 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 

 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Prior sales experience or customer facing role within an engineering or manufacturing industry  
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with customers and internal stakeholders  
  • Results oriented mindset with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth  
  • Detailed oriented approach, ensuring accuracy and completeness in data entry and reporting  
  • Self-directed and organized, exhibiting strong initiative, and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple priorities in a fast paced and changing environment  
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment  
  • Prior sales experience or customer facing role within an engineering or manufacturing industry 
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and products 
  • Familiarity with SAP or ERP system 
  • Familiarity with engineering documents 
  • Proven experience in engineered components  
  • Proven experience working with channel sales partners  

 

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
