How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an IT Systems Manager, you will be responsible for solving business problems by adapting ERP, product configurator, and other business software to fit the needs of the business. You will be part of a team working directly with end users, management, and independent sales representatives on resolution of business concerns and plant related needs. The successful Systems Manager possesses a strong technical background within IT and expertise in the support of end users with both application and technical issues.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. ERP and Business systems
  • Support business processes including product and job costing, accounting, order entry, MRP, shipping, purchasing, product structures and routing, and inventory management
  • Provide business and shop-floor solutions, working with end users
  • Adapt ERP systems to meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with management and independent sales representatives on needs and special projects
  • Participate in IT requirements determination and solution selection
  • Documentation of process flows and application updates

 

  1. Custom Application Development
    • Work with contract programmers to solve business requirements in custom applications
    • Programming experience beneficial, but not required, including:
      • Delphi
      • ABAP
      • C#, VB
      • General Web Development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
    • Factory CNC equipment

 

  1. Continuous Improvement: 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT infrastructure and processes by providing feedback and recommending solutions.
  • Prioritize tasks, coming from multiple areas of the business.
  • Aid in the development and/or implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, actively seeking opportunities for development and knowledge enhancement.
  • Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization.

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • At least 5 years’ IT experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • General database knowledge and data manipulation for purposes of creating executive reports and dashboards (Power BI, SQL Server, InterBase, etc.
  • ERP Systems, with at least 2 years in production areas; SAP ERP required
  • Basic working IT knowledge including networking, active directory, printers, etc. that is needed in support of applications.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Product configurators (CPQ systems), especially in a made-to-order manufacturing environment.  
    • Ability to work with engineering requirements to set up dynamic BOM configurator rules
  • Server Management / Hypervisor

 

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or another related field preferred
  • APICS CPIM Certification a plus
