As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Materials Coordinator, you will be responsible for making sure that a material plan is developed and executed to support production schedules, maintain certain inventories, and production scheduled are updated to reflect current customer demand. The incumbent will lead other material handlers and fill in as needed for the Material Supervisor.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Inventory and Material Management
- Place purchase orders in the Demand Planning System (SAP) and coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
- Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts and monitor material flow through production.
- Direct Material Handler activities as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Production Support and Scheduling
- Maintain the production schedule to ensure timely workflow.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support overall production and logistics efficiency.
What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience & Skills
- 5-7 years of relative work experience
- Strong communication and computer skills
Ideal Experience & Skills
- Previous experience with inventory management practices and procedures
- Ability to direct hourly employees in their daily activities and establish priorities
- Previous experience with SAP or other MRP systems
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 5-7 years of relative experience or a college degree in a related field
Travel & Working Environment
- Onsite – manufacturing plant environment, with potential exposure to all types of weather, including excessive heat, excessive cold, and excessive noise
- Lifting up to 50 pounds; 50+ pounds with assistance
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, twisting, reaching, working at heights, and using a ladder as required
- Ability to use both hands overhead
- Perform repetitive motions
