How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As Accounts Assis-tant, you will contribute to the financial success and growth of the company by ensuring preparation of financial reports and completing government requirements, including VAT, income tax and Intrastat/VIES/RCT returns. Under direction of the Finance Con-troller, and in accordance with corporate policies and procedures you will have a com-prehensive understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret financial data effectively, and the capacity to communicate financial information to various stakeholders within and outside the organization. 
    
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
1.    Financial Accounting
•    Preparation of monthly management accounts
•    Complete balance sheet reconciliations
•    Weekly KPI reporting and cashflow forecasting
•    Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and capital expenditure plans
•    Involvement in inventory control and stock count attendance
•    Accounts payable and receivable processing
•    Supplier payment runs

2.    Payroll and expenses
•    Processing payroll data on a weekly basis in an accurate, on-time, com-pliant manner
•    Calculating holiday pay, sick pay and other statutory payments
•    Processing new starters, leavers, calculating salary changes including back pay and pro-rata where required, along with calculating final pay-ments for leavers including accrued holiday entitlement.
•    Answering queries relating timesheets, payslips and other payroll mat-ters
3.    Compliance and Documentation
•    Completion of government requirements
•    Assisting with SOX control testing, internal and external audits
•    Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
•    Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience 
•    Experience in processing payroll

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
•    Prior experience in and understanding of accounting for a manufacturing compa-ny
•    Effective organizational skills, including following up on own needed actions
•    Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft Excel including data management
•    Sage Line 50 accounting software and Quantum Payroll familiarity is a plus
•    Adept problem-solving skills and analytical ability

Education & Certifications
•     ATI (Accounting Technicians Ireland) level qualification


Travel & Working Environment
•    Onsite office environment 9am-5pm Monday - Friday
•    The position may require working occasionally outside normal work hours
