As part of Detection and Measurement, Enterprise Control Systems (ECS) is a leading supplier of long range data links that support real time high resolution video transfer between air and ground users.   In creating products like RF inhibitors and specialized equipment for military and security purposes, we protect ground forces and infrastructure around the world.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to release manufacturing orders necessary to meet MRP objectives and to schedule and track the associated plant production (assembly line). The incumbent is also responsible for issuing and expediting work orders as needed to meet the production schedule or sales order ship date through MRP and expedite lists. The incumbent will review pending requirements with materials managers for any potential problems in meeting the requested ship date and process short lead time requirements.  Additional duties include working on special projects when assigned.  The successful incumbent will have sound knowledge of MRP, reading BOMs and drawings, and can perform work and make decisions independently, with an understanding of how those decisions will potentially impact other departments. Knowledge of MS projects will be beneficial.  Additionally, this position will also possess the ability to develop and maintain relationships between the plant, customers, sales and the general office personnel to ensure the smooth flow of the assembly line. The incumbent will be required to undertake training to negotiate Letters of Credit and ensure documentation required by the LoC is provided on time. Also, arrange packing boxes and transport as required, liaise with freight forwarders and create detailed packing lists and export documentation. 


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Analyse and open work orders from MRP system reports and sales order demand and open emergency orders as required
•    Meet with operations and sales team 
•    Regular monitoring of planned orders and timely closing of lower level completed production orders, and end- product production orders in conjunction with regular Production and Production scheduling Meetings
•    Maintains valid part routings and Material Master MRP data.  Monitor and ensure lead-time offsets are correctly assigned in Material Master 
•    Monitor, create/control routings as and when required
•    Coordinates implementation of ECOs (Engineering Change Orders). Re-attach BoMs and create Production Orders as required 
•    Work with Project Manager and Sales to ensure proper shipping documentation has been generated per the customer specification and Letter of Credit (where appropriate)
•    Arrange transport for contracts/parts as required
•    Arrange packing and crating of items for dispatch including packing lists
•    Client/freight forwarder liaison for packing and shipping of Export Contracts
•    Proper review and close of production orders
•    Use Winshuttle to open/close JIT production orders / new routings
•    Processing of production orders for spares and aftermarket requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
•    Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects (preferable) and Powerpoint 
•    Experience with Outlook 
•    Experience with SAP is preferred
•    APICS CPIM certification, or equivalent, preferred but not essential

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
•    At least 1 – 3 years experience in planning, scheduling and/or purchasing
•    Experience with MRP systems. Ability to read BOMs and drawings
•    Experience with shipping, logistics and documentation is preferred
