Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to grow the aftermarket service business across the UK. The Aftermarket Development Engineer will identify and develop service opportunities across the installed base, including both SPX equipment and competitor installations.

 

The role requires proactive engagement with customers, water treatment partners, service providers and site engineering teams to identify opportunities for inspections, maintenance, refurbishment and performance improvements.

 

As part of the wider aftermarket growth strategy, the role will also support the development of service opportunities on associated cooling equipment and emerging product lines, working closely with water treatment companies and site operators to identify maintenance and improvement projects.

                                                                                                                                         

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and assess installed cooling equipment across the UK to identify aftermarket opportunities including inspections, refurbishment, upgrades and performance improvements.

 

  • Follow up inspection findings with technical recommendations and support quotation development.

 

  • Maintain and develop an aftermarket opportunity pipeline and support conversion of opportunities into orders.

 

  • Support the identification of service opportunities on related cooling systems and equipment types, aligning with SPX’s strategy to expand aftermarket support across a wider product portfolio.

 

  • Develop relationships with water treatment companies and service partners to generate inspection, maintenance and refurbishment opportunities within the installed cooling equipment base.

 

 

 

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education

  • Experience working directly with industrial customers, contractors or service providers.
  • Ability to identify aftermarket opportunities through inspection of installed equipment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing subcontracted service teams or contractors is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of cooling towers, HVAC or industrial mechanical systems is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK.

Education & Certifications

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach
  • Able to work independently while contributing to team objectives
  • Computer literate with good communication skills

  • Hybrid with office environment/ Factory environment/Office environment, Monday - Friday
  • The position may require working occasionally outside normal work hours
