JOB SUMMARY
The Aftermarket Development Engineer is responsible for growing SPX Cooling Technologies’ aftermarket business by developing opportunities across the installed base of cooling towers and associated equipment within the Benelux region. The role combines technical expertise with commercial development, identifying opportunities through cooling tower inspections, customer engagement, and installed base analysis. These opportunities are converted into revenue through service, repair, upgrade, retrofit, and replacement solutions. Working closely with customers, service partners, and internal SPX teams, the role will develop a strong pipeline of aftermarket opportunities and support the delivery of lifecycle solutions for cooling tower systems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Develop knowledge of the regional installed base of SPX Marley and competitor cooling towers
•    Identify opportunities for upgrades, refurbishment, performance improvements, and replacement
•    Carry out technical inspections and condition assessments of cooling towers
•    Prepare inspection reports identifying maintenance, repair, and upgrade opportunities
•    Generate new business through site visits, inspections, and customer engagement
•    Promote SPX aftermarket offerings including spare parts, retrofits, and performance upgrades
•    Develop and maintain a pipeline of aftermarket opportunities and manage through CRM systems
•    Support accurate sales forecasting and opportunity reviews
•    Work with regional Service Partners and Representatives to identify and develop opportunities
•    Build strong relationships with industrial customers, contractors, and consultants
•    Support retrofit projects and aftermarket solutions across the region
•    Ensure all site activities are conducted in accordance with SPX safety policies and local regulation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
•    Experience with cooling towers or industrial mechanical equipment
•    Ability to identify commercial opportunities through equipment inspections
•    Strong customer engagement and relationship management skills
•    Commercial awareness with the ability to convert technical findings into sales opportunities
•    Organised with strong pipeline and opportunity management capability
•    Willingness to travel within the region
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•    Candidates should have a formal engineering qualification or experience with servicing Cooling Towers
•    Hold full driving license
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Drive, enthusiasm and a determination to succeed with a “Can Do” attitude
•    Highly organized with excellent time management skills
•    Adaptable and flexible attitude
•    The person must be computer literate.
•    Self-motivator, wit the ability to work independently
