This opportunity is for our Electric Heat business. Electric Heat is a trusted leader in electric heating and ventilation solutions for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. Backed by the strength of ASPEQ Heating Group and Marley Engineered Products, we offer a wide range of standard and customized products through leading brands like QMark, Indeeco, Berko, and Brasch.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Strategic Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strategic alignment with organizational goals. Your role will involve strategic planning, supplier relationship management, logistics optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall supply chain performance.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans aligned with company objectives, considering factors such as demand forecasting, inventory management, and production scheduling.
- Analyze market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for improving supply chain efficiency and competitiveness.
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions in supply, geopolitical factors, regulatory changes, and economic uncertainties.
- Develop contingency plans and resilience strategies to ensure business continuity and minimize the impact of potential disruptions.
2. Supplier Collaboration & Performance Management
- Partner with the Segment sourcing/procurement organization to support supplier strategy, supplier selection, and supplier transitions aligned with operational and business needs.
- Lead cross-functional supplier performance reviews focused on delivery, quality, responsiveness, and risk mitigation; escalate supplier issues and drive corrective actions with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Support negotiation preparation by providing data-driven inputs (demand forecasts, service level needs, cost-to-serve, capacity constraints, and operational risk insights).
- Monitor supplier performance trends and develop supplier improvement plans in collaboration with sourcing/procurement and operations teams.
3. Logistics and Inventory Management:
- Develop inventory strategies to balance product availability with cost efficiency, minimizing excess inventory while ensuring adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Help facilitate inventory optimization techniques such as demand forecasting, safety stock analysis, and inventory replenishment planning.
- Optimize transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes to minimize lead times, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Coordinate with logistics providers to optimize freight management, routing, and carrier selection, leveraging technology solutions where applicable
4. Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the supply chain, implementing lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or other continuous improvement techniques to drive operational excellence
- Lead cross-functional teams to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and optimate resource utilization throughout the supply chain
- Participate in projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals and the department and organization
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- 10+ years proven experience in supply chain management, with a focus on strategic planning, supplier management, and logistics and inventory optimization
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, conduct root cause analysis, and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Proficiency in supply chain software and technology platforms, such as ERP systems, demand planning tools, and transportation management systems
- Project management experience, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to supply chain operations.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is a plus.
Travel & Working Environment
- Overnight travel up to 60%
- Frequent exposure to manufacturing and plant environment
