How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Senior Product Manager for Radiodetection, you will have end-to-end ownership of assigned strategic product lines, shaping portfolio direction from market insight and product vision through development, launch, lifecycle management and commercial performance. You will combine customer understanding, technical insight and commercial discipline to build compelling strategies and business cases, align cross-functional teams, and deliver profitable growth, product innovation and sustained competitive advantage.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will influence senior stakeholders, mentor colleagues and contribute to broader business strategy beyond your immediate product lines. This role provides an opportunity for a high-potential product leader to broaden their impact and develop toward future senior leadership responsibilities.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

1. Product Strategy and Portfolio Leadership:

•   Own the strategy, roadmap, lifecycle and commercial performance of assigned product lines, ensuring alignment with Radiodetection’s business strategy and growth objectives.

•   Create and maintain multi-year product roadmaps in collaboration with engineering, sales, operations, finance and senior leadership.

•   Identify, qualify and prioritise opportunities for new product development, product enhancements, lifecycle extensions and portfolio rationalisation.

•   Act as a senior subject matter expert on the markets, applications, customers, competitors, technologies and regulatory trends relevant to the portfolio.

2. Customer, Market and Competitive Insight:

•   Lead market segmentation, voice-of-customer activity and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities, unmet needs and areas for differentiation.

•   Define target customers, priority market segments and the problems Radiodetection is best positioned to solve, recognising how customer expectations and market dynamics are changing.

•   Translate technical capability into clear customer value, differentiated positioning and compelling value propositions.

•   Represent the voice of the market in product, investment and strategic planning discussions.

3. New Product Development and Commercialisation:

•   Develop robust business cases, product requirements, investment appraisals, pricing assumptions and launch plans to support decision-making through the new product introduction process.

•   Lead cross-functional teams through product development and launch activity, ensuring programmes remain commercially focused and are delivered to agreed objectives.

•   Partner with engineering, operations, finance, sales, marketing and support to resolve issues, manage trade-offs and enable successful market introduction.

•   Ensure product and launch decisions are grounded in customer evidence, commercial viability, technical feasibility and operational readiness.

4. Commercial Performance and Go-to-Market:

•   Monitor portfolio performance, including revenue, margin, volume, pricing, discounts, adoption and customer feedback, taking corrective action where required.

•   Develop product positioning, pricing approaches and commercial strategies that support profitable growth across global markets.

•   Work with marketing to create effective product messaging, launch collateral, sales enablement tools and customer-facing content.

•   Partner with global sales teams on regional strategies, key customer engagement, tender positioning and executive-level customer discussions.

5. Strategic Leadership and Cross-Functional Influence:

•   Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a credible, evidence-based voice in strategic business planning forums.

•   Contribute to wider product management and marketing priorities, including portfolio strategy, innovation planning, digital initiatives and long-term growth planning.

•   Mentor colleagues, share product management best practice and contribute to the development of organisational capability.

•   Operate effectively through complexity and ambiguity, using sound judgement, resilience and influence to drive decisions without relying on direct authority.
