This is a position with The Marley Company, a parent company which provides administrative support to the SPX Enterprises HVAC Heating businesses (such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, Patterson-Kelley, LLC)  and includes all Weil-McLain® branded products.

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

 

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. Working closely with our Marketing team, this internship provides hands-on experience in creative design and brand communication within a leading manufacturing organization. The Graphic Design Intern will support the development and execution of visual content across digital and print platforms, helping to communicate our products, brand identity, and marketing messages effectively.In this role, you will contribute to a variety of design projects including product collateral, website updates, social media graphics, and campaign materials. You will work under the guidance of a Senior Designer and collaborate with the marketing team to ensure brand consistency, design quality, and timely delivery of creative materials.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

 

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

 

Creative Design & Content Development
•    Select and develop photo images for marketing materials, websites, and social or blog posts to support campaigns and storytelling.
•    Design and produce marketing materials for both print and digital applications, ensuring brand consistency and visual impact.
•    Retouch and manipulate images to enhance quality and align with brand standards.
•    Assist with rebranding initiatives by updating product collateral and marketing assets to reflect current templates and guidelines.

 

Digital & Web Support
•    Assist with light website updates and content edits within WordPress.
•    Help maintain backend systems by uploading and updating product and marketing content.
•    Support the organization and management of digital asset libraries and the marketing file server to ensure accessibility and version control.

 

Collaboration & Coordination
•    Work under the direction of a Senior Designer to support the Marketing Communications Team with creative projects, campaign coordination, and promotional activities.
•    Collaborate across departments to ensure marketing materials effectively communicate key messages and product value.
•    Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute fresh ideas and creative input.

 

Administrative & General Support
•    Assist with daily marketing administration tasks and general office duties as assigned
•    Provide support for special projects, product launches, and company events as needed.

 

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

 

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Strong interest in creative design, branding, marketing communications, and digital media
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience in both print and digital design layout creations
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Solid understanding of color theory and typography
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams while independently managing projects.

Education & Certifications

  • At least junior level in a bachelor’s program with a major in Marketing, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher preferred.

 

Travel & Working Environment

 

  • Minimum travel may be required. Less than 5%.
  • Workplace is onsite in an office setting.

 

Please Note: This position is located in Burr Ridge, IL.  No relocation or temporary housing is provided.
