This is a position with WM Technologies, LLC and affiliate of SPX Enterprises, LLC, which manufactures and sells Weil-McLain®  branded products. Weil-McLain® is a leading North American brand of hydronic comfort heating systems for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings since 1881. 

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. The Senior Product Manager, Climate Conscious role offers a unique opportunity to lead the organization in the development of a vision and strategic business plan for our Climate Conscious business in collaboration with other key cross-functional stakeholders. This entrepreneurial role has the opportunity to scale a new “hybrid” HVAC category working with external market actors in a rapidly evolving landscape.  

The incumbent will establish and nurture strong, collaborative relationships across all functional areas within WM and PK while leveraging the SPX Business System for effective process development, problem solving and countermeasure activities.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
Category Owner
•    Be the resident expert in residential Air-to-Water heat pump products, applications and market segments
•    Positioned as a thought leader to clearly articulate value proposition in public speaking and other promotional events
•    Monitor and define market trends and customer needs to develop strategies for market acceptance and rapid adoption 
•    Develop and maintain relationships with key market stakeholders (e.g. utilities, energy efficiency partners etc.,) and key customers (distributors, contractors) 
•    Establish, maintain and grow symbiotic partnerships with strategic suppliers 
Product Management
•    Regularly conduct competitive comparisons, product gap analysis and voice of customer insight capture to drive optimal product specifications and road mapping 
•    Research, propose and execute product modification projects from conception through launch 
•    Monitor and document field issues and recommend product modifications accordingly
•    As the category matures, perform product life cycle management (PLCM) to maximize product line profitability
Go-to-Market Activation 
•    Partner with MarComm to create compelling, effective messaging and tools to assist sales, distributors and contractors to gain market share of our products
•    Work with R&D / Engineering to develop pre-sale technical materials that aid in the selection, application and sales of residential Air-to-Water solutions 
•    Establish positive working relationships with the field sales force and other cross-functional stakeholders to be viewed as an expert regarding the go-to-market approach and product / application opportunities
•    Collaborate with the sales team to track and report progress towards our climate conscious decarbonization strategy
•    Partner with Sales and our external training partner to ensure a full range of product training is available across the digital LMS and in-person School of Better Heating (SoBH)

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience 
•    Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in product management, channel marketing or market transformation for a growth product line   
•    Experience in the Plumbing, HVAC, building products, appliances or related industries
•    Experience specific to B2B and/or two-step distribution
•    Demonstrated knowledge of business case development and product lifecycle management      

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•    Proven track record of leading and executing successful product launches, organic strategic initiatives
•    Experience working with external market actors and influencers 
•    Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and building trusted relationships
•    Displays a high level of critical thinking in cross-functional process analysis and problem resolution for new and existing products/programs
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, as well as excellent presentation skills. Ability to confidently and persuasively present to senior leadership team and key customers essential.
•    Ability to organize workload to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
•    Strong information and data analysis/analytics capabilities 

Education & Certifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or Marketing required. Master’s Degree preferred

Travel & Working Environment
•    Climate control office working environment
•    Must be able to travel 25% of the time
