How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an HR Project Manager, you will lead and coordinate HR activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and integrations, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance with legal and corporate standards from due diligence to post-close execution. You will also lead and support compensation projects and other functional projects, including harmonization, benchmarking, and policy alignment. Your role is critical in supporting organizational growth and transformation by delivering high-impact HR initiatives, providing project oversight, and ensuring successful outcomes across business units and geographies.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- M&A Due Diligence & Integration
- Lead HR due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, assessing risks, liabilities, and opportunities.
- Develop and execute HR integration plans, including organizational design, talent assessment, and change management.
- Collaborate with other HR team members, legal, finance, and business leaders to ensure compliance and alignment of HR practices.
- Conduct harmonization of compensation, benefits, and policies across merged entities.
- Compensation Project Support
- Administer compensation transition plans in alignment with M&A integration timelines
- Apply knowledge of compensation principles and practices to help design solutions that align with business and talent strategies
- Contribute to compensation benchmarking, analysis, and harmonization efforts, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
- Support design and implementation of new compensation structures, incentive plans, and equity programs working closely with the compensation team.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and internal policy adherence.
- Partner with HR, finance, and external consultants on solutions and execution of compensation-related initiatives that align with business strategy.
- Project Management
- Manage multiple short and long-range projects through all stages of the project life cycle, collaborating with HR, business, and vendor resources.
- Prepare integrated project plans, report on deliverables, outputs, and progress.
- Diagnose and overcome barriers to project progress, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Organize and lead project teams, ensuring roles, responsibilities, and expectations are clear and fulfilled.
- Monitor and control project risks, implementing mechanisms to identify, analyze, and respond to them.
- Track HR KPIs and budgets for assigned projects.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes and project delivery through ongoing evaluation and feedback.
- Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and implement best practices, leveraging generative AI when appropriate.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation, soliciting input from stakeholders, and leveraging data to drive decision-making.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

- Required Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in HR, compensation management, or M&A
- Proven experience in project management
- Demonstrated experience leveraging data analytics and HR systems to analyze, interpret, and reconcile data.
- Demonstrated aptitude in Problem Solving
- Ability to identify complex issues, analyze root causes, and develop effective, practical solutions.
- Skilled in applying critical thinking and structured methodologies to resolve challenges under time constraints.
- Capable of anticipating potential obstacles and proactively implementing strategies to mitigate risks.
- Strong decision-making skills with a focus on balancing short-term fixes and long-term improvements.
- Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of HR practices, compensation, and regulatory requirements in M&A.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- High ethical standards and business acumen.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
Travel & Working Environment
Up to 10 - 15% travel
