Job Summary
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. Under the direction of the Product Supervisor, Assembler B is generally responsible for the product assembly, disassembly, repair and cutting and bending of tubes under the Patterson-Kelley product lines. Assembler B will be expected to maintain quality and safety standards in accordance to SPX policies.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Technical Operations:
- Performs product assembly, disassembly, repair and hydro test operations.
- Lays out and cuts gaskets, sets up tube bundles, expands tubes, cuts, racks, and anneals tubes.
- Lays out, cuts and bends tubes.
- Requires judgment in assembling, aligning, fitting, shimming and adjustment to meet requirements as shown on assembly drawings.
- Quality Assurance and Safety:
- Maintains inventory levels, checks work station bins, replenishes work carts and puts away parts into supermarket locations
- Responsible for periodic check of work as necessary to insure quality.
- Responsible for and performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Must be qualified to work with minimum supervision.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education

- The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual.
- Make sound decisions, exercise independent judgment and prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrate ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate hand tools so products are built within specifications.
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Working Environment
- Workplace is onsite in manufacturing environment
- Normal work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday.
- Must be flexible to work occasional overtime as required.
Physical Demands
:
- Occasionally moves goods and materials up to 35 pounds
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, hear; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (eyewear and footwear)
