GENFARE Overview

Genfare is a fare collection technology provider in the detection and measurement segment within SPX Corporation. Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and curious Project Management & Implementation Intern with a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence to support our PM and Implementation (IMPL) teams. This role is designed for an undergraduate student studying AI, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, who is interested in understanding real-world project delivery processes and applying AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency.

The intern will primarily observe, learn, and analyze existing PM and implementation workflows, templates, and procedures, and identify opportunities where AI tools or agents can enhance documentation, reporting, decision-making, and overall project quality.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Learn and observe Project Management and Implementation processes across multiple projects
  • Review and understand existing templates, documentation, procedures, and tools used by the PM and IMPL teams
  • Analyze current workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or quality improvement opportunities
  • Research and propose ways AI can be leveraged to:
    • Improve documentation quality and consistency
    • Automate repetitive tasks (reporting, status updates, checklists, etc.)
    • Enhance project insights, risk identification, and data analysis
  • Assist in the design, prototyping, or development of AI agents/tools to support PM and IMPL activities
  • Document findings, recommendations, and proof-of-concept solutions
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Implementation Managers, and technical teams to validate ideas and solutions

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in AI applications in business or operational processes
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts, automation tools, or prompt engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn processes quickly and translate observations into actionable insights
  • Good communication and documentation skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI tools (e.g., LLMs, workflow automation, agents, copilots)
  • Familiarity with project management concepts (coursework exposure is sufficient)
  • Experience building small prototypes, scripts, or AI-based tools
  • Interest in enterprise systems, software implementation, or operations

 

Education & Certifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field

SPX Pay Transparency Statement
We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $21.00-$22.00 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect.   We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process.  At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors.  This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.  SPX offers a variety of benefits, including health benefits, 401K retirement with a company match, and flexible time off.   More information about our benefits can be found on the “Rewards and Benefits” section of our career page.
