As part of Detection and Measurement, Aids to Navigation, including Flash, Sabik Marine and Sealite, are leading providers of lighting and navigational aids for the marine, obstruction, and airfield end markets. Offering the broadest portfolio of solutions, we help people transverse the world safely by air, land, and sea.
Primary Purpose
Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair FAA obstruction lighting systems, primarily on towers and other elevated structures. Tower climbing and tower-site field service are the primary functions of this position. Technicians will also support fixed airfield lighting systems and related aviation-lighting equipment as assigned. Prior experience with tower obstruction lighting and airfield lighting systems is preferred, but lighting experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair FAA obstruction lighting systems on tower sites and other elevated structures.
- Support installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of fixed airfield lighting systems and related field equipment as assigned.
- Climb and work on structures up to 2,000 feet.
- Travel extensively to job sites using company vehicles and occasional air travel.
- Complete daily reports, truck logs, and expense documentation.
- Perform vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Follow OSHA, FAA, company, and driving safety requirements.
- Represent the company professionally and maintain a positive customer-facing image.
- Work independently while collaborating with team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 2+ years of professional tower-climbing experience is preferred. Climbing experience may come from cellular/telecommunications, tower construction or erection, broadcast, utility, lighting, or other professional tower-work disciplines.
- Must currently be working in an active climbing role or have performed professional tower-climbing duties within the last 6 months.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Certifications & Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Current or recent (within 6 months) authorized climber certification.
- Ability to pass:
