As part of Detection and Measurement, TCI is a global leader in innovative spectrum monitoring and communications intelligence (COMINT) systems. How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Technical Program Manager with a technical background, you will be a self-starter with the ability to work cross functionally to complete projects; the ability to deal with complex situations/ projects in international settings involving detection, location and countermeasure capabilities. Strong communications and organizational skills are required to successfully manage systems integration, field installations, customer training and technical support activities.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Create and execute project work plans and budgets and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
- Manage teams of engineers and field technicians to complete project tasks both locally and in Customer countries.
- Ability to perform tasks and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Manage aspects of pre-shipment process, Engineering and Production requirements and deadlines, and planning and supporting of customer Factory Acceptance Testing when necessary.
- Support customers’ installation & site preparation planning, including identifying and managing subcontractors, coordinating Statement of Work documentation, ensuring quality of work, and managing customer modifications in scope.
- Manage all on-site activities, including site preparation; arrangements for and inspection of incoming shipments; installation and commissioning of hardware and software; performance of Site Acceptance Tests; training of customers; and local and remote diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Serve as the customer’s primary point of contact during execution (manufacturing, installation and post-sale support periods).
- Support sales and marketing activities in project and program management roles in preparation of proposals.
- Must be willing to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- Must be fluent in English, fluency in multiple languages is highly desirable.
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Green card holder)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills, PMP Certification preferred
- International Travel Experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- The ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical / electronic schematics
- Experience working with RF Communications Equipment, Spectrum Monitoring & Management Systems and/or Signals Intelligence Systems is highly desirable.
- Previous or current security clearance and/or military experience; must be clearable
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Former military or industry experience beneficial and desirable
Education & Certifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical field
- Minimum of 7 years technical program management or relevant experience
- PMP Certification preferred
Travel & Working Environment
- Must be willing to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.
- Must reside locally to Fremont facility
- Possibility to work onsite at least 3 days per week, upon successful assimilation into the business

As required by law in this state, the quoted salary range for this position is $125,100- $175,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
