Inventory Analyst

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) 

The purpose of this position is primary contact for planning as well as inventory control.  Candidate would champion process establishing Master Schedule, shop schedule control, drive material flow improvements, increasing inventory accuracy.   Candidate must have solid problem-solving skills and assume additional duties including working on special projects when assigned.  The successful incumbent will have sound knowledge of MRP, CRP, BOM’s, and can perform work and make decisions independently, with an understanding of how those decisions will potentially impact other departments. 

 

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be: 

  •  Establish and maintain production Master Schedule.
  • Monitor and report material shortages to purchasing and leadership.
  • Assure proper work orders issued to manufacturing to support production, inventory buffers and turns.
  • Assist and coordinate setting up of Supermarkets and Kanbans to support production.
  • Create, Develop, Improve, and Implement SOP’s to support the business.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Operators, Receiving, Stores, and Supervisors to improve system accuracy of material routings, BOMS, system material parameters, and storing of goods to drive quality and accuracy.
  • Assist and coordinate the proper disposition of obsolescence and slow moving inventory.
  • Thoroughly research inventory variances to make appropriate adjustments (quantity and price variance analysis).
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve and streamline work processes.
  • Willingness to effectively educate others to improve overall accuracy.
  • Assist as needed in stock-out situations.
  • Process Customer returns.
  • Complete required inventory adjustments/scrap transactions for all line downs.
  • Report monthly line down transaction costs to Quality, excluding utilization loss.
  • Take appropriate action for all COGI errors.
  • Monitor all SAP transactions for correctness.  Respond/investigate when abnormalities are found.
  • Monitor VMI inventory & conduct monthly desktop cycle counts.
  • Prepare & conduct monthly cycle counts. 
  • Prepare and carry out physical inventory for all US plants.
  • Follow all Company policies, rules, and procedures; including Safety
  • Additional functions and other duties as assigned or required.

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

 

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has: 

Required Experience  

  • High school Diploma (or equivalent) required, Bachelors degree preferred
  • At least 1-3 years of hands on related experience of planning, inventory control, cycle counts, and material flow

 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Experience with MRP systems and BOM’s readings and drawings is desired
  • Experience with barcoding inventory systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Experience with SAP is preferred

  

Travel & Working Environment 

  • Office environment with occasional work in a plant/manufacturing environment
  • Minimal travel (<10%) that includes visits to other facilities, vendors and training.
  • Manufacturing Environment require use of foot, eye and ear protection when in production areas.
